Becoming A Driving Instructor

Training to become a driving instructor

One of the most important steps to becoming a driving instructor is learning what it involves. Many trainees rush into a decision making costly mistakes in the process. Please read the advice below designed to help make the decision clearer.

So you're thinking about becoming a driving instructor?

Training to become a Driving Instructor is a challenging process. However, for those PDI's (Potential Driving Instructors) that make it through the 3 required exams successfully, it is ultimately rewarding.

The problem lies with the radio and TV adverts telling us that you should become a Driving Instructor because you can 'be your own boss and earn 30K a year'.

Though this is an achievable goal and many successful trainees go on to work for themselves - the ads fail to mention the training and dedication needed to reach it.

The ads also fail to mention that a lot of the training can be done without the aid of a college by using using DVSA publications, potentially saving the trainee hundreds and in some cases, over a thousand pounds.

To that end, we have put together a free, essential overview, on the process of becoming a professional Driving Instructor.
